Clinical Work with Trans And Non-Binary Youth: Affirming Gender Identity Assessments and Identity Document Supports
Join the DuPage Community Network: Professionals Serving LGBTQ+ Youth for our yearly training geared towards mental health providers. This workshop will start by identifying the clinician’s role in providing psychoeducation to clients and their families about changing identity documents, led by Carolyn Wahlskog, LCSW using guidance from Transformative Justice Law Project.
Our featured presenter is Marco Hidalgo, PhD, Medical Psychologist at Lurie Children's Gender and Sex Development Program who will coach participants through gender identity assessments tools used by Lurie’s team.
Therapists Angella MacDonald, MS, LMFT of Creekwood Associates and Cindy Baleskie, MA, LCPC of Fox Valley Institute will then facilitate practical application of psychoeducation and gender assessment tools through a case presentation.
